We encourage you to use your own digital files for printing. This is the best way to ensure that you and your company/client/ETC… receive the product you expect. For the best possible service, and to help you avoid problems when submitting artwork electronically, Copy Graphix Pro has compiled this list of tips.

Preparing Your Artwork

Layout

    Setup artwork at actual size. Business cards are 3.5’’ x 2’’, envelopes (#10) are 9.5’’ x 4.125’’, and letterhead is 8.5’’ x 11’’
Margins on Business Cards must be at least 1/8’’ (1/4’’ recommended.) Margins on other products must be at least 3/8’’.
Step-and-repeat is not necessary. Make your file one-up, with crop marks for accurate positioning. (If you don't know how to do this, we will be glad to do it for you).

Text

Recommended type size is 8 points for body copy and 12 points for mainline. Script fonts may need to be larger to be readable.
Convert text to outlines if your program supports this. If it does not, consider submitting a PDF file.

Graphics

Images should have a resolution of at least 600 DPI (dots per inch) for best results. Graphics taken from the Web (usually JPEGs and GIFs) will usually have a resolution of 72 DPI, which wil yield poor results when printed.
For spot color jobs, it is better to scan an image in grayscale and then apply color to it in your design program. Images scanned in RGB color do not color-separate properly for this printing process and require lengthy touch up work to become usable.

Color

If your application supports it, choose spot colors from the PANTONE spot color library rather than arbitrary RGB or CMYK values. This way your art will color-separate cleanly.

Submitting Artwork Via the Web

There are two ways to submit work through the internet.
First, for files smaller then 5MB you can email them to us at sales@copygraphixpro.net or sales@copygraphix.com.
Second for larger files you can use our FTP service, the instructions to use it can be found here.
Finally I should mention that we have an electronic order form that can be filled out and submitted through your Microsoft Outlook Software. By filling out the parts that you already know on the sheet you can help us improve the turn around time on your work.

Further Instructions

We accept seven file formats. Encapsulated PostScript(EPS), Portable Document Format (PDF), Tagged Image File Format (TIFF), Adobe Indesign Documents (INDD), Adobe Pagemaker Documents (PMD), Photoshop Documents (PSD) and Adobe Illustrator Files (AI).

EPS & AI is best for text and designs created in vector-based drawing programs, such as Adobe Illustrator and Corel Draw. (Please convert all text to outlines.)
TIFF & PSD are best for scanned images and single-color designs created in pixel-based 'paint programs' such as Adobe Photoshop, Paintshop Pro, or Gimp. Single-color designs should be done in black. (Resolution should be at least 600 DPI.)
PDF is useful when designing using non-standard programs. Users of Microsoft products in particular should choose this option.
INDD & PMD is ideal for files that you might want us to make corrections on later. When sending files in these format types, be sure to embed all of your images and fonts.

For both FTP & Email, it is important you make sure you've filled out our electronic order form and submitted it through email.

If Additional Work is Needed

Any modification of customer files will be done at an extra charge of $50.00 per hour.
